Leslie King

Leslie has over 20 years’ experience in the FHA commercial lending industry with a solid track record of cultivating collaborative, productive lending platforms for the HUD MAP and LEAN programs.  She has been a MAP and LEAN approved Underwriter in good standing for over a decade and has independently underwritten more than 50 closed HUD-insured transactions, with positive credit outcomes, totaling over $750 million. Throughout her career, Leslie has also served as a Quality Control Compliance Officer developing and implementing quality control plans for multiple FHA lenders resulting in deficiency free audits for several years. As Director of FHA Structing at Bellwether Enterprise, Leslie works closely with the production staff to identify opportunities for the FHA programs and ensure a smooth process from client engagement to closing.

Prior to joining Bellwether Enterprise in 2021, Leslie was a HUD-approved Deputy Chief Underwriter for Hunt Real Estate Capital’s FHA platform which received a perfect annual ORCF scorecard under her direction. She also was employed by Greystone Funding Corporation for 15 years with her final role as a Deputy Chief Underwriter for their FHA platform. As one of the first few employees of Greystone’s FHA MAP platform, Leslie was responsible for creating numerous internal processing and underwriting tools for the FHA department. She developed strong working relationships with clients and industry stakeholders. Over the years, she led multiple initiatives to increase the FHA pipeline and served as a mentor to processors, underwriters, and originators. While at Greystone, Leslie acted as the liaison between the FHA platform and in-house bridge loan department to ensure bridge loans were properly structured for a successful HUD loan exit strategy.

In addition to her MAP and LEAN Underwriter approvals, Leslie was also a HUD-approved Construction Loan Administrator for over a decade.

Leslie holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Old Dominion University. Additionally, Leslie is a licensed real estate salesperson in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
