Professional experience

Experience

Jim has 23 years of experience in commercial real estate, tenant and landlord representation, underwriting and debt/equity origination. He has structured and closed equity and debt transactions with a total capitalized value in excess of $6 billion.  This includes debt financing, as well as various investments into office, industrial, retail, multifamily, hotels, self-storage, and parking assets. He has also advised clients in negotiating discounted payoffs, note sales, equity and joint venture structuring, property valuation, lease review and investor return analysis.

 

In addition, Jim is a managing partner in TurnCap, a private equity fund that provides first mortgage bridge debt to sponsors.  The fund started in 2021 and has funded $300 million in new loans for sponsors since that time. 


Education

Jim is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, OH and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance.
