Kelly Hoy

As Chief Legal Officer, Kelly Hoy brings more than 30 years of legal leadership experience to BWE. Prior to joining BWE in 2024, Kelly was Chief Legal Officer at GBX Group where she ensured a stable environment for investors in GBX equity funds and played a key role in real estate portfolio growth. This leadership was guided by Kelly and her team’s thorough project structuring, asset acquisition and disposition, financing review and approval, and project due diligence oversight.

Prior to her time at GBX, Kelly served as Counsel in the real estate group of Jones Day, a worldwide law firm, where she was involved in investor syndication and real estate fund formation, private equity, land acquisition, construction, and permanent financing. Prior to that, she served as Associate General Counsel at Associated Estates Realty Corp., and General Counsel at First Interstate Properties and Legacy Capital Partners where she represented real estate owners, investors and developers in all phases of real estate acquisition, ownership, development, financing and private equity real estate investing.

A member of the American Bar Association’s Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law, Kelly also belongs to the Ohio State Bar Association and the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association.

Education

Kelly earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from The University of Akron and her JD Summa Cum Laude from The University of Akron School of Law.
