BWE Expands National Presence with New South Florida Office

BWE, a national commercial and multifamily mortgage banking company, announced today that it has opened a new office in South Florida. Dan Rosenberg, an Executive Vice President at BWE, will lead the expansion, and Maxx Carney has joined the firm as a Senior Vice President in the newly established office. Together, the two bring more than 30 years of commercial real estate finance experience to South Florida.

“We are excited to enter the South Florida market and look forward to expanding our presence and the BWE platform in the coming years. Dan and Maxx bring the right combination of experience, local market knowledge, and expertise across the entire capital stack,” said Todd Harrop, BWE’s National Director of Conventional Production. “Given our extensive access to capital and deep lender relationships, I know Dan and Maxx will bring a lot of value to existing and prospective clients looking to optimize their financing needs in this challenging environment.”

Since joining BWE’s Chicago office in 2020, Rosenberg has played an instrumental role in growing that team, and under his leadership the office has achieved over $1.5 billion in loan production. As Executive Vice President, he is responsible for the origination and placement of debt and equity structures for development, acquisition, and permanent financing, and his clients include REITs, Fund Sponsors, family offices, and middle-market, high net-worth individuals. In addition to his new role in South Florida, Rosenberg will continue to serve as the head of BWE’s Chicago office.

Throughout his more than 10-year career, Carney has been responsible for the origination and execution of debt and equity capital for commercial real estate assets across the country, with a specific focus on Florida and the Southeast. He brings extensive experience advising private equity funds, family offices, and regional operators on complex capital market dynamics, as well as partnering with derivative advisors to advise on creative interest rate hedging strategies. Prior to joining BWE, Carney worked for nearly 10 years with JLL Capital Markets and has been involved in more than $4 billion of real estate transactions throughout the United States.

“It’s an honor to open the South Florida office while still leading our incredible team up in Chicago. At BWE, we’re focused on building long-term relationships with our clients, following them and their transactions across the country and working with all our production offices to ensure they have access to optimal capital solutions and certainty of execution,” said Rosenberg. “Opening a South Florida office will not only help us better serve clients based in that area, but it will also benefit our Midwest-based clients interested in pursuing opportunities in the Southeast.”

The opening of the South Florida office comes during a time of growth and expansion for BWE. Despite a challenging economic environment, the company has brought on 14 new producers across its 30+ offices over the past 12 months, and it has increased its total base of talented originators by 33% over the last five years. BWE will continue to bring on new producers and add offices in South Florida in the years to come.
